Right after you have received that proposal from him, the next thing that will come to your mind is to tell everyone about your engagement. While at the party, do not expect to receive gifts from your guests. Since there is no rule if your guests should bring gifts, it is better if you do not expect anything from them. Keep in mind that the main purpose of having an engagement party is to celebrate your engagement with close family and friends. Do not think about gifts yet since you will have a lot of them and you will also have some to give like your bridesmaids gifts for your bridesmaid.
