Caring for Your Pearls
Pearls are not meant as a daily wear since they may not withstand the difficulties in working with your hands. Do not wear your pearls when you are in physical labor, working in the yard, or working out at the gym, the dirt and perspiration that you accumulated as you do those things will lessen the lifespan of your pearls. This also applies when you are swimming in the ocean, surf or scuba diving. Although pearls came from the ocean, it does not mean that they will survive in water.
When taking care of your pearl jewelry, make sure that it does not get in contact with your hairsprays, perfumes, and lotions. But of course it does not mean that you cannot use your perfume when you wear your pearl jewelry. When dressing up, your pearl jewelry should be the last thing you put on. And as you come back home, your pearl bridal jewelry should be the first thing you take of. By doing this, you are limiting the exposure of your pearls to chemicals.
