How to Choose Pearls
To be able to select the right pearl bridal jewelry, better know that there are three types of pearls and they are natural, cultured and imitation pearls. Imitation pearls are mostly used as custom pearls so they do not cost much and they do not have much of a value. Natural pearls are rare to find because of deterrents that are found at sea. That leaves us with cultured pearls. They are the same with natural pearls, but the difference between them is that a cultivator or a pearl farmer interfered in creating them.
To rightfully choose pearls, better inspect them for luster and check if it is a fake one or a real pearl. When checking for luster, inspect them under direct light and on a flat white surface. A lustrous pearl should have a shiny surface and avoid pearls that have white and cloudy look to them.
To know if your pearls are real, run your pearls along the bottom edge of your teeth to feel if it is gritty or sandy. If the pearl feels smooth, the pearls are fake. Pearls that look flawless and fee light when you bounce them on your hand are probably fake. Always be cautious on what you purchase since you always want to get your money’s worth.
