Pearls Timeless Story
Pearls are popular for its simplicity and elegance. They have been with us for thousands of years and they have even been regarded as the most popular gem in the world back when mass cultivation didn’t exist. Pearls have more of a richer history than diamonds, which only grew popular because of mass advertisement during the early 19th century.
Pearls have been regarded as a priceless gem since it was so difficult to buy a single pearl jewelry back during the ancient times. It was even recorded during the Roman Empire that a general sold a single pearl bridal earring and was able to finance the whole roman army.
However, because of mass cultivation, its value greatly depreciated. The great side though, is that more people were able to enjoy the benefits of wearing pearls. But because of man’s quest to produce the same quality pearls as natural pearls give, it has been ousted by diamonds
