THE STORY OF MY WEDDING

Every women dream of having the perfect wedding. Although some of them had a difficult time getting one. I for one, wasn’t able to have my own dream wedding. I use to dream of having a simple wedding on the beach with just some close friends and family with me.

I wanted to have a simple wedding dress suited to wear on the beach with daisies for my bouquet. and a raft floating on the ocean where my groom and I will exchange vows. But because I have a large family and my husband’s parents wanted to invite all their living relatives, my plans changed.

I married on a church and had my reception on a beautiful garden. My youngest sister helped me with the selection of my wedding gown and bought me all my wedding jewelry needed for the occasion. I remember the headband tiara she bought for me. The design of that wedding jewelry was so simple made of swarovski crystals in different alternating colors. It totally gave me a different aura that day when I finally wore it to my wedding. I wish I could even wear it everyday after the wedding. If only I could.

I even remember that day of my wedding when the pastor asked me about my vow and I utterly forgot all the lines and all the guests were laughing at the blunders I made. I was hoping to disappear but I knew by heart that they were laughing because they share my excitement about my union.

My reception was a bit of a chaos although my family and my husband’s family was totally excited about the never ending singing and dancing. I can’t even comprehend until now if there is a significant meaning if the rain starts pouring during the wedding celebration because I got married on a rainy day. And because my reception was held on a garden all our guests had to fit in on the big garden canopy. But all in all my wedding was great since I married the man who I know will love me even if I become fat, old and gray.

And about the wedding jewelry my youngest sister gave me, I still have it and will probably give it to my son’s fiancee once he decides to marry. I will count twenty five moreĀ  years for that!
