Getting Contribution for your Big Day

To get the necessary wedding contribution from your family, better plan a meeting with them. Always remember that timing is everything and that you are not a small girl asking for candy that they would not give. Timing is everything when it comes to any financial situation. Do not start the discussion about your wedding budget just when your mom and your dad is having a petty quarrel.

Try to talk to them when you know they are all calm and you know they will listen to you. Make sure they are not problematic or stress out with everything so that they can only focus on you. Especially if you are the groom and would want everything to go according to how your bride wants it, make sure that when you discuss our finances in your wedding to your family know it is the right moment.

Always be courteous. Do not force them to contribute beyond their means. Even if you are in total need of money and you know that the bride’s family doesn’t have much either. Remember that this is your obligation and another first step towards individualism and independence from them.  So knowing that they have done enough to give you should also make you thank them for all the hard effort they are also doing. They may even give the bride her own wedding jewelry, which she would for sure love to wear.
