Paying for the Wedding

Commonly it is the bride and her family that pays for most of the expenses at the wedding while the groom and his family pays for the rehearsal dinner party and every expense that they should spend for themselves.

The bride’s family is mostly in charge of the reception cost, wedding favors, wedding band or DJ, photographer, bridal jewelry and bridesmaid jewelry, wedding consultant, and so on. The groom’s family will mostly be responsible paying the alcohol at the reception, honeymoon, limousine, marriage license, officiant fee, bride’s wedding gift, and wedding rings.

But of course, if the groom is more able than the bride, there is no harm to breaking this usual tradition and let the groom and his family pay for most of the expenses. And with the current state of our economy, it is no wonder that more and more couples are joining in with the expenses and helping each other out so that they could pay and have their dream wedding.
