The most common type of scams when buying diamonds is the Carat Total weight scam where the jeweler will put the tag on the piece of jewelry that shows only the total carat weight of all the diamonds in the jewelry instead of listing the total weight separately. These lead consumers to think that the main diamond in the main piece is actually bigger than it is. To avoid getting scam with this, ask your jeweler to give you a list of all the carat weight of all the diamonds in the jewelry.
Always go to a jeweler you trust or a jeweler that was highly recommended to you. Do a lot of research on how to effectively purchase diamonds since even if the cases for diamond scams are still minor one, it can still be considered a major offense since fooling anyone does not leave a good impression.
