There are no given rules on when you can host your engagement party. Most do it after the proposal, some do it on the middle of the wedding planning, and others before the wedding takes place. You can invite anyone close to you, but be sure that you will invite them too on your wedding since it will be a little impolite not the invite them.
Anyone can give you your engagement party, your parents or the groom’s parents can also host the party for you. Even your close friends can give you your party. They can do it in their house or backyard and even in a restaurant. After the reception party, you can relax for a while and start thinking on what bridal jewelry you are going to wear for your wedding.
