Tying the Knot
Would you believe that during ancient tribal times the term “tying the knot” presented a different meaning? During those days, the bride would be wrapped in sheep clothing with a knot out in front and they probably have their own version of wedding jewelry as their own fashion. This tradition signifies a different meaning than what we do have now. This tradition reflects the bride, which signifies her virginity and purity.
While tying the knot nowadays simply means marriage. The actual meaning is a social union with a legal contract between individuals who feel passionate about each other. During ancient tribal times, the bride’s bridal dress has a knot out in front that signifies that she is pure while the groom would have the privilege to “untie the knot” after the wedding.
