Understanding Gold
There are certain simple things you will need to learn about gold since you are going to purchase them as your wedding band. As there are different Karats to a gold such as , 14K, 18K, 22K, and 24K, better ask yourself first what karat matches you and your lifestyle. For women wearing gold jewelry can really be fashionable and women do not actually complain wearing them even for their wedding jewelry.
For men though, this may be a problem since it is necessary to get the right Karat for them. Some may even want to wear a higher Karat thinking that the more expensive the ring is, the more reliable it would be. For gold though and especially if it is going to be used as a ring, purchasing a higher Karat may not be suitable.
The metal hardness is important since gold can be easily scratched or bent. Metal hardness is determined by its Vickers score. The higher the Vickers score, the harder the metal is. A 9K ring with a Vickers score of 120 and an 18K with a score of 125 only has a 5 point difference. So if you are aiming for a groom’s weeding band, you can choose between the two to be certain that it will be as tough as it is needed to be.
