Proper Etiquette during an Engagement Party
If you are a bride or even a guest attending an engagement party there are just some few reminders to think about before attending or having one:
If you are a guest attending your friend’s engagement party, do not forget to bring even a small token or gift to show your acknowledgement to the couple. Although it is not necessary or there is not said rule about giving a gift to the party, it would still look polite even if you can bring a card that says you are congratulating them.
Anyone in both sides of the family can host the party and that family or person who will host the party will also be responsible to pay for it. Do not try to force the responsibility of hosting to your bridesmaids unless they insist. Since they also have some expenses when it comes to your wedding and one way to show appreciation to them is to give them their bridesmaid gifts. Do not forget your flower girl gifts as well.
If you are a bride who wants to have an engagement party, talk to your groom and your family so that you do not have to ask your bridal party to give you one. Remember that as the start of your engagement, you also need to control your money to be able to have a great wedding planning after your party.
