What You Need For Your Reception

When you are planning a wedding by yourself, it can be an overwhelming task. This is especially true when you have decided to hold the wedding at home, or in some other location where you will need to bring everything in. Although it may seem daunting, once you get organized, you will discover that planning a fantastic wedding is actually quite fun.

Start by making a list of everything that you need for your wedding. Chairs of course are the first item. If it’s an outdoor wedding then you’ll also need a tent. Mother Nature likes to goof around with people’s plans and it will either rain or be so hot and sunny, you’ll beg for a shady spot.

Do you want plants for the wedding and if so, what type? Even if you’re having the wedding in a traditional location, you might want to add the elegance of a tree or two to the ceremony. Large ferns and showy potted plants give you a lot more bang for your buck and they live to create a beautiful backing for another happy couple.

The reception brings on a whole list of things that you might want but don’t have at the venue of your choice. If you’re having it outdoors and don’t have a tent for the wedding, you’ll need it for the reception. See if the company offers an option for a dance floor if you have a band. Tables and linens top the list for the reception. You can use the chairs from the wedding but if you want to fancy them up a bit, rent chair covers and sashes.

Candelabras for the table make a great addition. While you are thinking about the table, don’t forget silverware, plates, cups, glassware, and other matching table service like salt and pepper shakers. If your meal is buffet style, you’ll need to have plenty of warmers, serving trays, and serving ware. Don’t forget the chocolate fountain; it’s a special touch that every guest loves!
